Who is teaching at the University of Illinois College of Medicine? (Dr. Mark Musselman)

We trust physicians and surgeons. We trust that our medical schools are led by the best and brightest.

Perhaps, with respect to Carle Clinic Association, Carle Foundation Hospital and the University of Illinois College of Medicine, our trust is misplaced.

Why is the University of Illinois College of Medicine promoting Dr. Mark Musselman as a "specialist" in pediatric hematology-oncology when he is not board certified in the sub-specialty?

It is just plain dishonest.

Dr. Musselman may be a fine man, skillful clinician and caring human being. He may be a very talented board certified pediatrician. But is *not* a specialist in pediatric hematology-oncology and Carle should not hold him out as such.

It is incredible that a man that has no board certification in the relevant sub-specialty (Dr. Musselman) represents the entirety of the pediatric hematology-oncology faculty for the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) College of Medicine faculty!!

Here is the College of Medicine's description of their pediatric hematology-oncology head of department:
